Love. Duty. Betrayal.

Henry Purcell's Dido & Aeneas is one of the greatest masterpieces of the Baroque era, telling the timeless story of Queen Dido of Carthage and the Trojan hero Aeneas. Their love is profound but short-lived, undone by fate, deception, and impossible choices in a drama that has captivated audiences for more than three centuries.

In this bold reimagining, Cantabile brings together choir, soloists, Baroque orchestra, and contemporary dance to create a powerful new interpretation of Purcell's enduring masterpiece.

Whether you're discovering Dido & Aeneas for the first time or revising the timeless story from Virgil's Aeneid, this evening promises extraordinary music, compelling storytelling, and breathtaking artistry.
